Private Pilot License

The Private Pilot Licence is the personal licence issued for those who wish to do leisure flying and is also the first step towards to commercial licence. The course comprises of a minimum of 210 hours theoretical knowledge sessions and 40 flying hours to be conducted withing 4-5 months (Full time). Flexible scheduling and payment schemes are available to suit anyone’s needs and timelines, for both professionals who seek the thrill of flying as well as students wishing for a future career in the field of aviation.

PPL Requirements

REQUIREMENTS TO FOLLOW FLIGHT TRAINING
  • Minimum Age – 16 Years
  • 6 Credit Passes in GCE O/Ls including Mathermatics, Science & English OR Other Equivalent Qualification
  • Class 1 Medical Issued by CAASL
  • NIB and Air Force Clearance Passes (Contact LFA for Application)
  • High Proficiency in English Language

PRIVATE PILOT LICENCE (PPL) ON CESSNA 152
  • Duration 4-5 Months
  • 210hrs of Ground School (Theory)
  • 40hrs Flight Training
  • 1hr Skill Test for the issuance of PPL

Commercial Pilot License/Instrument Rating With Frozen ATPL

The final stage for those who dream of a flying workplace, the Commercial Pilot Licence with Instrument Rating and Frozen ATPL makes you eligible for a career in the field of aviation. Students are given the opportunity to fly all over the country for any airport within reach unlike anyone else, one of many “Only at Lakwin” privileges. The highest standard of training is ensured at Lakwin to suit the students for a brighter career ahead.

CPL/IR with Frozen ATPL Requirements

REQUIREMENTS TO FOLLOW FLIGHT TRAINING
  • Minimum Age – 17 Years
  • A Valid PPL
  • Class 1 Medical Issued by CAASL
  • NIB and Air Force Clearance Passes (Contact LFA for Application)
  • High Proficiency in English Language

COMMERCIAL PILOTS LICENCE(CPL) WITH IR/ Frozen ATPL ON CESSNA 152
  • Duration 10 Months
  • 550hrs of Ground School (Theory)
  • 154hrs Flight Training
  • 2hrs Skill Test for the issuance of CPL/IR

Multi Engine Rating

Multi Engine Rating, a mandatory requirement in many airlines including Sri Lankan airlines is available at Lakwin. With a state-of-the-art aircraft, an unparalleled training is ensured at Lakwin. Currently, Lakwin Flight Academy is the only operator in Ratmalana to provide Multi Engine training, and for those who wish to obtain Multi Engine Instrument Rating, the only operator in the country to offer the course.

MULTI-ENGINE RATING ON PIPER PA-34-200T SENECA II
  • Duration 2 Weeks

Assistant Flight Instructor Rating

Learn to train from the best. Train under the most experienced Head of Training in the country for your Assistant Flight Instructor rating. Majority of the flight instructors serving in the field were trained under Capt. Hirantha Perera.
